After revealing his battle with stomach cancer Sunday afternoon on social media, country star Toby Keith has officially canceled his Wisconsin State Fair show scheduled for Aug. 4, the fair's opening night.

“Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery,” Keith wrote Sunday. “So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax. I am looking forward to spending this time with my family."

Keith assured fans he would see them "sooner rather than later," but he's scrapping summer shows, including the State Fair appearance, to focus on his health.

"We are saddened to hear about the news of Toby Keith’s cancer diagnosis," Wisconsin State Fair officials said in a statement Monday. "Our hearts go out to Toby, his family, and his dedicated fans."

Tickets purchased through the fair's official ticket provider, Etix, will be automatically refunded, fair officials said Monday.

An announcement regarding a new main stage show for Aug. 4 will come soon, they said.

The Wisconsin State Fair returns Aug. 4 to 14. The fair's other main stage headliners are Kansas with Asia, Aug. 5; Jeff Dunham, Aug. 6; the Happy Together tour, Aug. 7; Zach Williams, Aug. 8; Kidz Bop Live, Aug. 9; Charlie Berens, Aug. 10; Tesla, Aug. 11; Nelly, Aug. 12; Brett Young, Aug. 13; and the Oak Ridge Boys, Aug. 14.
