Toddler cracks up in dollar store over mom’s whoopee cushion joke: ‘His laugh is everything’

A mom didn’t shy away from a little bathroom humor to make her son laugh.

Just about everyone has a memory of a time they encountered a whoopee cushion. The practical joke novelty toy is a bag that emits the sound of flatulence when a person sits on it or squeezes it. You might be surprised to learn the whoopee cushion dates back to ancient times.

During the early 200s, Roman Emperor Elagabalus used whoopee cushions to trick his stuck-up guests. However, the modern rubber versions we use today were first invented in Toronto, Canada, in the 1930s by the JEM Rubber Company. Basically, fart jokes are timeless.

TikTok mom Kaylee Ditto introduced her son to the classic gag while at a department store.

Ditto’s son was sitting in the shopping cart when she lifted him up, placing the whoopee cushion under him. It didn’t go off the first time, so she lifted him again, and the whoopee cushion unleashed its signature loud noise. The toddler couldn’t stop cracking up the entire time — but not everyone was amused.

“The lady picking out cards at the end of the aisle did not seem impressed,” Ditto wrote in the caption.

The video received 8.4 million views and 2 million likes on TikTok.

“His laugh is everything,” a user said.

“Such a wholesome video and the best laugh,” another commented.

“You get all the mom points!” someone wrote.
