Tokyo latte artist creates foam art of Pikachu, Kirby and more

A latte artist in Tokyo’s Harajuku district is giving customers one more reason to smile in the morning by making anime art on the foam or cream of their beverage orders.

A video montage shared by Japan ON on Instagram shows artwork by latte artist Runa, featuring Pikachu, Kirby, Dogecoin, Hello Kitty and other beloved characters.

The Instagram video's caption reads: “The untold stories of Japan. On this episode I went to Cafe reissue located in Harajuku, Tokyo. Where I met Runa! A very talented latte artist. She can make 2d and 3d latte art of any character from any anime or video game that you can think of. Runa was very kind and made me two 3d latte art coffees one was Totoro from Ghibli and the other one was Kirby from Nintendo! Would you try Runa's latte art or is it too cute to drink?"

Other latte artists have popped up across Asia over the years. My Cofi, a cafe located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, started offering recreations of the famous painting “The Scream” by Edvard Munch back in 2017.
