Toledo School District Receives $10,000 Grant from Bill Belichick Foundation

Jan. 28—The Toledo School District has received a $10,000 grant from the Bill Belichick Foundation to support Riverhawks football.

The foundation was established by the New England Patriots head coach in 2013 with the goal of bringing "the values of the Belichick family — a love of sports, coaching and team building — to the athletic leaders of tomorrow," with a focus on supporting football and lacrosse.

The Toledo School District received a message from the Belichick Foundation on Tuesday informing the district it was selected to receive the grant.

"Your organization exemplifies the mission of the Bill Belichick Foundation, which is why we are pleased to award you this one-time $10,000 grant," said the foundation in its message to the district, which was posted to the district's Facebook page on Wednesday.

The Toledo School District publicly thanked Riverhawks Athletic Director Grady Fallon, Football Coach Mike Christensen and District Office Secretary Mandy Kruger, "for bringing the grant to TSD."

All funds from the grant will be used in support of Riverhawks football.
