Tolliver Temple Church of God in Christ to be considered for Seattle landmark designation in May

The Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board will consider the Tolliver Temple Church of God in Christ in May, announced the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods in a release on Wednesday.

The church, formerly Sephardic Bikur Holim, was nominated to be a protected Seattle landmark last July.

The church is located in the Central District at 1915 East Fir Street.

The Seattle Department of Neighborhood’s website says that it has designated more than 400 individual sites, buildings, vehicles, vessels, and street clocks as landmarks subject to protection by city ordinance since 1973.

The meeting for the church will be held on May 17 at 3:30 p.m. Members of the public can attend the meeting in person at the Boards and Commissions Room (L2-80) of Seattle City Hall at 600 4th Avenue.

The meeting can also be accessed virtually using a link that will be posted in the agenda on the Seatle Department of Neighborhoods website around one week before the meeting.

The public is also invited to participate in the meeting and comment about the church’s nomination.
