Tolls for the South Norfolk Jordan Bridge in Chesapeake will increase on Jan. 1.

Vehicles with two axles using E-Z Pass will pay $2.65, an additional 10 cents per trip, both for peak and non-peak hours.

Vehicles with three or more axles using E-Z pass will pay $5.75 per trip, an additional 20 cents, for non-peak hours. For peak hours, those vehicles will pay $9.75 per trip, an increase of 50 cents.

Peak hours are from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m during the week. Vehicles traveling on weekends and holidays are charged non-peak rates.

For drivers traveling without E-Z Pass and instead paying by license plate, trips will increase 20 cents, to $3.10 per trip for two-axle vehicles and $3.75, up from $3.70 for vehicles with three axles or more.

For the Downtown and Midtown tunnels, Elizabeth River Crossings has not determined the toll rates for 2021 yet, according to a spokesperson.

The sale of ERC is processing and “current owners believe it would be appropriate for any buyer to be involved in the 2021 toll rate decision,” the spokesperson wrote in an email.
