Through the years, Tom Hanks has undergone dramatic transformations for myriad memorable characters — including a cross-dressing advertising industry upstart (“Bosom Buddies”), a slow-witted Alabamian with a heart of gold (“Forrest Gump”) and a beloved television host (“A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood”) — but the two-time Academy Award winning actor isn’t too impressed with the look of his latest character.

Hanks, who is currently filming Baz Luhrmann’s eagerly anticipated Elvis Presley biopic, appeared on The Graham Norton Show and seemed more than eager to show off his what he referred to as a “horrible haircut.”

“Here, let me show the horrible haircut I have to have in order to portray Colonel Tom Parker,” he said as he removed his baseball cap, revealing his bald head. “I just scared the children. I want to apologize.”

The 64-year-old beloved Hollywood superstar portrays Parker, who was the longtime manager of the man marketed as The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

The Dutch-born musical entrepreneur, considered a tough gatekeeper, managed the Presley estate after his death in 1977.

“Switched at Birth” actor Austin Butler landed the gig of playing Presley in the Warner Bros. flick, which resumed production in September after being put on hold when Hanks tested positive for COVID-19 in March.

“We’re back to, as Elvis liked to say, ‘taking care of business!’ It is a real privilege in this unprecedented global moment that Tom Hanks has been able to return to Australia to join Austin Butler and all of our extraordinary cast and crew to commence production on ‘Elvis,’” Luhrmann told Variety at the time.

“Elvis,” also starring Olivia DeJonge, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rufus Sewell and Yola — as rock & roll trailblazer Sister Rosetta Tharpe — is slated for release in late 2021.
