While much of the world is in isolation, self quarantined and practicing social distancing to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, some are dealing with the COVID-19 virus head on. Several of those affected are in the world of celebrity.

In the past few weeks, the list of athletes, influencers, leaders and other celebrities who have confirmed positive tests has grown and includes Arielle Charnas, Kevin Durant, Idris Elba, Chris Cuomo and Tom Hanks, among others.

Hey everyone. I just wanted to update you all that I’ve found out that I’ve tested positive for Covid-19. I’ve been in quarantine since Broadway shows shut down on Thursday, March 12th, and I’m feeling much better. I consider myself extremely lucky that my symptoms have been very mild – cold like with no fever – as so many are experiencing much more serious symptoms, because this is a very dangerous virus. One thing I have been experiencing is the loss of taste and smell, which I think is a big sign for people who are otherwise asymptotic. I was tested last Monday, and just found out the results, however, I have been taking this situation extremely seriously, even before I was tested. I want everyone to realize that this can affect anyone. And even if you aren’t feeling sick or showing drastic symptoms – please take heed, stay safe, stay healthy and I hope to see everyone at the theater again soon. And I wanted to post this with a picture of Miles because, they’re loving all this extra time at home with their Humans!

After being in quarantine since Broadway shows shut down on March 12, singer and actor Aaron Tveit tested positive for the coronavirus. The “Les Misérables” star is encouraging fans to take heed and stay safe and healthy.

Prince Albert II of Monaco

Prince Albert II of Monaco has tested positive for the coronavirus according to a statement from the Palace of Monaco on Facebook. The prince is the reigning monarch of the principality and is the son of Prince Rainier III and Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco.

Boris Johnson

On March 27, U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson became the first world leader to say that he tested positive for the coronavirus. “I’ve developed mild symptoms of the coronavirus, that’s to say a temperature and a persistent cough,” he said in a video posted on Twitter. “I’m working from home, I’m self isolating — that’s entirely the right thing to do. But, be in no doubt, I can continue, thanks to the wizardry of modern technology, to communicate with all my top team, to lead the national fightback against coronavirus.”

Singer Charlotte Lawrence used her Instagram account to inform her followers that she, too, has tested positive for COVID-19.

Chris Cuomo

CNN anchor Chris Cuomo has tested positive for the coronavirus, the network confirmed on March 31. Cuomo said on Twitter that he will continue to host his show, “Cuomo Prime Time” — from his basement, where he is quarantined. “We will all beat this by being smart and tough and united,” the journalist wrote.

Christian Wood

Detroit Pistons power forward Christian Wood reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus on Sunday, as first reported by Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated. Wood was the third NBA player to test positive for COVID-19.

Daniel Dae Kim

Star of “Hawaii 5-0” Daniel Dae Kim shared on Instagram today that he tested positive for COVID-19. He took to the app to explain his experience fighting the coronavirus and plans to keep followers updated with the progression of his symptoms.

I have just tested positive for Covid-19.I AM OK! About a month ago my entire home(husband and two teen daughters) got an odd bug- Low grade fever,headaches,sore throat,body aches,ears ringing and a dry cough.It cleared up quickly.Seasonal I thought?but it felt unusual/different… Two weeks later,March 15th,I woke up with all those same symptoms but super intense body aches,and 102.4 fever.I figured maybe I got the flu or..Corona?😬 I had had cocktails the evening prior,and smoked a few cigarettes. I figured I had jacked my immune system from having a fun night with friends.I called a doctor/friend to ask if I could get the Covid-19 test on 3/16.He said NO,I didn’t meet the criteria.I hadn’t recently traveled out of the country&I hadnt been with someone who had actually tested positive.I found this kind of a CRAZY criteria for a NY’er as I had taken the subway,gone to the theater,the grocery store,the pharmacy,hair salon,etc.I was the Mom who was trying to prepare the home and get supplies&bleach wipes,dry goods.extra food etc. Because we have Italian family in Italy and we follow the news closely,my biggest panic was why were they not closing schools in NYC &forbidding movement outside the home without permission,like China and all of Europe? Prospect Park yesterday,i hear was jumpin’! A friend told me that CityMD/Urgent Care in my neighborhood had test kits,which appealed to me as I wanted to stay away from the hospital. I went on 3/17.First I was tested for the flu-which was negative.Then they tested me for Covid-19. I was sent home and told to quarantine myself until I had results,which would take 3-7 days(in S.Korea it takes two hours) Well..today is day 5 and I just found out.Im hoping I’ve been through the worst of it already.Its very “morphy”.One day I feel crappy and the next I’m normal.Today my lungs are heavy,but I’m tough. The Utah Jazz announced in a statement that Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, the first two players in the NBA to test positive for the coronavirus, have been cleared of it and the Utah Department of Health said they “no longer pose a risk of infection to others.”

After teammate Rudy Gobert’s test was confirmed, news of Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell’s positive test was revealed, as first reported by ESPN senior NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski. The Adidas-backed baller has since taken to social media to share messages of gratitude for the support from his fans at this time.

Doris Burke

Doris Burke, NBA analyst and reporter for ESPN, has tested positive for the coronavirus. Burke broke the news on the podcast of ESPN senior NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski on March 27, which he shared to his Twitter account.

Manny Chirico

In an interview with CNBC, PVH Corp. CEO Emanuel “Manny” Chirico revealed that he was diagnosed with COVID-19. The exec said that he learned he was infected during a visit to the Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, when the company — parent to Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein — was delivering a huge shipment of masks and other medical equipment. “I was going to be present there, and anybody who’s going to be inside the hospital for an extended period of time needs to be tested,” he said. “So I was tested and I was kind of shocked when I found out that I was positive. I’m asymptomatic.”

James Dolan

The New York Knicks revealed on March 28 that owner Jim Dolan has tested positive for the coronavirus. Dolan, Madison Square Garden Company’s executive chairman and CEO, is continuing to oversee business operations while in self-isolation. He is experiencing few symptoms.

Idris Elba

Acclaimed actor Idris Elba announced via his personal Twitter account on Monday that he has tested positive for the coronavirus. In the days following the diagnosis, Elba has provided updates on his health, answered questions from his fans and urged his followers to stop spreading conspiracy theories about COVID-19.

Kevin Durant

NBA star Kevin Durant confirmed to The Athletic and Stadium’s senior lead NBA insider Shams Charania on Tuesday that he tested positive for the coronavirus. “Everyone be careful, take care of yourself and quarantine. We’re going to get through this,” Durant reportedly told Charania, who shared the message on Twitter. News of Durant’s positive test broke shortly after his team, the Brooklyn Nets, announced four players had tested positive.

Los Angeles Lakers

The NBA franchise released a statement Thursday announcing that the team, under the recommendation of team physicians and public health officials, was tested for the coronavirus after playing the Brooklyn Nets on March 10. So far, four members of the Nets have tested positive for COVID-19. The Lakers revealed that the tests of two players came back positive.

Marcus Smart of the Boston Celtics revealed on Twitter late on March 29 that he has recovered from COVID-19. “Corona Free as of two days ago. Cleared by Mass Dept of Health,” the NBA star said in a Twitter post. “Thanks for everyone’s thoughts and prayers, and I’m doing the same for everyone that’s been affected by this. Stay safe and stay together – apart! Much love!”

Prince Charles has tested positive for the coronavirus, his office revealed on March 25. The Prince of Wales, who is first in line to the British throne, is said to be experiencing mild symptoms. His wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, has tested negative for the virus, the statement said.

Sen. Rand Paul

On March 23, Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky revealed that he had tested positive for the coronavirus.“The broader the testing and the less finger-pointing we have, the better. America is strong. We are a resilient people, but we’re stronger when we stand together,” the Republican wrote in a statement.

Rudy Gobert

Update: March 27, 2020

The Utah Jazz announced in a statement that Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, the first two players in the NBA to test positive for the coronavirus, have been cleared of it and the Utah Department of Health said they “no longer pose a risk of infection to others.”

On March 11, NBA All-Star Rudy Gobert became the first player in the league who was confirmed to have tested positive for the coronavirus. After the diagnosis, the Utah Jazz revealed Gobert’s plans to donate $500,000 to the employee relief fund for the team’s home venue, Vivint Smart Home Arena, and coronavirus-related services in Utah, Oklahoma City and France.

Scarface

According to multiple reports, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, the wife of Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, tested positive for the coronavirus on March 12. They state she developed the symptoms while in Canada after returning from a speaking event in London, where she took pictures with several celebrities, including Idris Elba.

Tom Hanks

Beloved actor Tom Hanks revealed via Twitter that he and his wife, Rita, while in Australia, tested positive for the coronavirus on March 11. Since confirming the test results, Hanks has provided updates on their well-being via the social media platform.

Von Miller

NFL star Von Miller revealed April 16 that he has tested positive for the coronavirus. The Denver Broncos released a statement saying, “Von has elected to share his diagnosis publicly to emphasize that anyone can be afflicted with coronavirus” and that he is “doing well and recovering at home in self-isolation.” The Super Bowl champion said on the “Today Show” on April 17 that “I was shocked. We’ve been taking this seriously since day one.”
