ATG+ members and those with a priority booking link can purchase their tickets now, with the pre-sale beginning at 8am this morning. General ticket booking follows at 12pm the same day.

The production is being directed by Jamie Lloyd, whose recent theatre credits include National Theatre play The Effect and Sunset Boulevard starring Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger (which is now headed to Broadway).

"Violent delights have violent ends," teases the play's tagline. "Tom Holland is Romeo in Jamie Lloyd's pulsating new vision of Shakespeare's immortal tale of wordsmiths, rhymers, lovers and fighters."

Holland is the only cast member currently confirmed for the production, with no word yet on supporting cast and who will appear alongside him as Juliet Capulet.

It's not the first time the Crowded Room actor has appeared on stage, with Holland making his stage debut as a teenager, playing the title role in Billy Elliot the musical during its 2009 and 2010 run.

Holland teased the theatre news on his social media, posting yesterday a video of him playing golf on his Instagram Stories. "Big announcement tomorrow!", read the caption.

The Spider-Man star then shared the play's poster in a follow-up post, telling fans to "sign up now" and directing them to a link in his Instagram biography for further details.

Jamie Lloyd's Romeo and Juliet, starring Tom Holland, will run at the Duke of York Theatre in central London from May 11-August, 3 2024.
