Toms River man, 52, downloaded more than 1,000 images of child porn: Prosecutor

TOMS RIVER - A Toms River man was charged this week with possession of child pornography, after investigators discovered he had downloaded more than a thousand images of child sexual abuse, announced Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.

Edward Lynch, 52, of Toms River, is now in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River after detectives and police officers executed a search warrant at his home on Thursday, according to a statement from the Prosecutor’s Office.

The investigation started with multiple tips that were sent to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, alleging that a local individual was downloading child porn from the internet, the statement said.
