Toms River shooting victims named, funeral service planned

TOMS RIVER - The victims of the hookah lounge shooting on Saturday in Toms River have been identified, including Nymere Tinsley, 25, of Brick, who was killed, according to authorities.

Two other victims — Anthony Miller, 29, of Neptune and Jamal Bland, 24, of Asbury Park — were also identified. Miller is still hospitalized in critical but stable condition. Bland was treated for injuries and released after suffering gunshot wounds at the scene, according to an announcement from Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. No arrests have been announced.

According to his obituary, there will be a viewing at 10 a.m. Sept. 9 for Tinsley, followed by a funeral service at Triumphant Life Church Assembly of God at the former Fort Monmouth in Oceanport.

The triple shooting at Top Tier Hookah on Hooper Avenue resulted in the business' shutdown, as the township revoked its certificate for occupancy, citing multiple zoning, safety and code violations, according to the mayor.

The business owner and property owner have also been fined $4,500 and received a summons which is scheduled to be heard in Toms River municipal court on Sept. 12.

This is an ongoing investigation, authorities said.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation should contact Detective Denis Mitchell of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-929-2027, or Detective Jennifer Grob of the Toms River Township Police Department at 732-349-0150.
