Tools for online safety for children and teens

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — After hearing reports of children being exploited or exposed to graphic material online, it can be easy for a parent to feel overwhelmed and helpless to the far-reaching powers of the internet.

Titania Jordan, the Chief Parent Officer of Bark.us and a tech, social media and family safety expert, joined 17 News at Sunrise from Atlanta, Georgia, to speak about tools and resources available to help parents have more awareness and control over the content children see and partake in on digital devices.

Jordan shared these action steps following the airing of a special report from reporter Aleeya Fitzgerald about a local father found explicit messages from someone from another state on his 10-year-old daughter’s school-issued laptop.
