Lego Night

The Rancho Mirage Public Library hosts a monthly lego night, and each month, there's a new theme. November's theme is — appropriately — gratitude. Children will have 45 minutes to build, five minutes to clean up and 10 minutes to show off their work. Creations are displayed the following month. For kids ages 5 and up.

Palm Springs Rewinds: Tim Burton's 'Batman Returns'

Palm Springs Rewinds is an ongoing series offering screenings of films from acclaimed contemporary directors. This week, the Palm Springs Cultural Center will screen "Batman Returns."

Historic Casita Lighting

Join La Quinta Museum and Manny the Movie Guy to celebrate the holidays with a lighting of the historic casita.

Indio International Tamale Festival

The international tamale festival in Indio features more than 300 vendors, a tamale eating contest, five stages of live entertainment and wine and beer gardens. Attendees will be able to sample a wide variety of tamales.

Rock Yard

Listen to various tribute bands at The Rock Yard outdoor concert stage each weekend. This week features Academy of Musical Performance with Steel Rod on Thursday, Green Day tribute band, Green Today, on Friday and Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute band, Red Hot Cholo Peppers, on Saturday. Food and drinks are available for purchase. Ages 18-plus.

Merry Movie Nights

Enjoy a family holiday movie screening and sights of snowfall. Bring blankets and dress warm. This week, the film "Prep and Landing" will be screened. Reservations are required.

Cabazon Dinosaurs

The Cabazon Dinosaurs are celebrating Christmas with plenty of lights and photo opportunities with Santa and his sleigh. The Dinosaurs in Colorful Lights can be seen from dusk to 8 p.m. (tickets sales end at 8 p.m.) Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings through Jan. 1.

Tickets: Admission $15 adults, $13 children ages 3-12, Seniors and military $11 (but free to walk up during the day and take photos with the dinosaurs, which have been painted for the holidays).

Gingerbread Lane

Old Town Artisan Studios will convert the 3-acre art campus into Gingerbread Lane. The winter wonderland will feature a 17-foot tree, holiday cottage, gingerbread cookies, hot cider, cookie decorating tables and clay ornament painting.

Wildlights

Encounter life-size, luminescent animal lanterns while you explore pathways and a tunnel of lights flashing to holiday music. There will be food and beverage available for purchase. Reservations are required.
