The Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival

The festivities continue at the Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival this week, ending on Sunday, Feb. 26. The fair has a slew of attractions that include BMX stunt shows, hypnotism, pig races and more. There are plenty of date snacks and deserts to enjoy, and you can also expect the usual fair food and drinks as well as exhibits, carnival rides and live music.

When: 3-10 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday to Monday, Feb. 17-26

Palm Desert Greek Festival

Spend the Sunday enjoying a full day of Greek culture and food at Palm Desert. Festivities include live music from a Greek bouzouki band and traditional dance demonstrations where attendees are encouraged to participate. For the food offerings, you can find the menu on the website, which includes a grilled octopus plate, an appetizer dish that comes with tomato slices, cucumbers, olives and feta cheese. Please note there will be no cash payment at the event. The only acceptable payment options are credit card or smartphone contactless payment.

When: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19

Villagefest

Every Thursday night, Palm Canyon Drive is closed to cars so pedestrians can browse the plethora of vendors that take over the space for VillageFest. The mix of merchants include flowers, food, art and jewelry for patrons to shop, as well as live entertainment to enjoy.

When: 6-10 p.m. every Thursday

ARRIVAL: The Music of ABBA

Limited tickets are still available to see ARRIVAL from Sweden for the "The Music of ABBA" show. It is a tribute production of ABBA that showcases hit songs "Dancing Queen," "Mamma Mia" and more. The band will bring a lively performance in-costume to give the audience an authentic ABBA concert experience.

Cultural Weekends at Cabot's Pueblo Museum

February and March will feature several offerings from Cabot's Pueblo Museum that provide an intimate experience with award-winning artists. Attendees will be able to watch these creators work, as well as engage with them. This month, the Mata Ortiz Master Potters will be the highlighted, and Lila Silveira, Trini Silveira and Elvira Bugarini Cota will paint a pot free-hand with a human-hair brush. Attendees can also witness how pots are fired from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26

Backyard BBQ Featuring: Lindsay Ell

Bring your partners or yourself for this night filled with line dancing, mechanical bull rides and plenty of barbecue to feast on. The menu will have pulled pork sandwiches, spare ribs and much more. Headlining the live entertainment will be Lindsay Ell, singer-songwriter who has 185 thousand subscribers on YouTube.

When: Doors open at 4 p.m. and show starts at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25

Black History Month Parade and Town Fair

The Palm Springs Black History Committee and the City of Palm Springs are partnering together to host this annual parade and fair honoring Black excellence and the history of the Black experience. The town fair is held at the Downtown Park in Palm Springs and it will immediately follow the parade.

When: 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25

Where: Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs

CANCELED: Desert WineFest

Editor's note: This event has been canceled due to staffing and weather issues. Attendee tickets will be transferred to the fall date or refunded.

The first annual Desert WineFest will take place this Saturday in Palm Desert. The two-day fest will feature a plethora of wine and craft beer for attendees to enjoy. Drinking with an empty stomach is not recommended, so there will be food trucks and assorted artisan and culinary exhibitors at the event.

When: 1-5 p.m, Saturday, Feb. 25 and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26

The Street Fair at College of the Desert
