Ohio Stadium will be filled up in seven months. For now, college football coaches around the nation will begin looking for stars to play there from 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes.

When it come to recruiting in high school football, if you miss a day you miss a lot.

The 2023 class got a chance to bask in the attention of the traditional national signing day on Wednesday and attention already is turning to the next wave of talent.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the top five players being recruited in the Greater Akron area. The five standouts have 50 offers among them, and that number will only go up in the coming months as more Division I colleges take interest in them:

Ty Campbell, Archbishop Hoban

5-foot-11, 170 pounds, safety, junior

Campbell has offers from Akron, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Kentucky, Michigan, Miami (Ohio), Ohio and Toledo. He’s received interest from Wisconsin, West Virginia, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Ohio State and Buffalo. The first-team All-Ohioan made 58 tackles, 31 solo, had 13 pass breakups, five interceptions and returned a punt for a touchdown last season.

Ibraheem Kamara, East

6-foot-3, 185 pounds, athlete, junior

Kamara has offers from Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Marshall, Miami, Toledo, Central Michigan, Ohio, UMass and Pitt. He was named third-team All-Ohio as a linebacker last season after logging 80 tackles, six for loss, 10 sacks, three forced fumbles and an interception.

Tommy Ricard, Hudson

6-foot-3, 275 pounds, offensive tackle, junior

Ricard has offers from Bowling Green, Boston College, West Virginia, Kentucky, Ball State, Kent State, Akron, Maryland, Miami (Ohio), Toledo and Michigan State. He has interest from Penn State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Cincinnati, Pitt, Northwestern, Syracuse, Wisconsin and Colorado. The first-team All-Ohioan helped the Explorers average 366.1 yards per game last season.

William Satterwhite, Archbishop Hoban

6-foot-5, 290 pounds, offensive guard, junior

Satterwhite has offers from Alabama, Penn State, Michigan, West Virginia, Auburn, Wisconsin, Appalachian State, Michigan State, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Pitt, Toledo, Kentucky, Missouri, Eastern Kentucky, Miami (Ohio), Kent State, Minnesota, Duke, Maryland, Colorado, Tennessee and Maryland. An honorable mention All-Ohioan, he was an integral part of Lamar Sperling winning Mr. Football at running back.

5-foot-10, 170 pounds, running back, sophomore

Stevens has offers from Akron, Ball State, Boston College, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Eastern Kentucky, Indiana, Kent State, UMass, Pitt, Toledo, Miami (Ohio) and Central Michigan. The third-team All-Ohioan rushed for 1,385 yards and 12 touchdowns last season.
