Top 5 most expensive homes sold in Greece last year

Despite volatile interest rates, demand continued to remain strong in the greater Rochester housing market during 2022.

“The Rochester real estate market cooled somewhat in 2022 as indicated by the decline in closed sales.” said Mike O’Connor, president of the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors. “The frantic pace of the last couple of years is slowing, but there are still many active buyers who are continually on the lookout for new listings.”

In Greece, the smaller volume of homes on the market continued to drive prices upward. Sales closed on 1,262 homes in the town last year, a decline of 12.2% compared to 2021, according to GRAR data. The median sales price rose 9.7% in 2022 to $192,000, and has risen 44.4% since 2018 when the median sales price was $133,000.

“We expect the housing market to remain active in 2023 despite higher mortgage rates,” said O’Connor.“The historically low number of homes for sale is still the biggest challenge, but continued growth in themedian sales price will entice some sellers to put their home on the market. If buyers remain patient, thereshould be opportunities for them in 2023.”
