The Whynter ARC-14S is in our top 5 best portable ACs, able to cool an area about 22°F in 20 minutes. Overall, we thought this unit performed well and had an intuitive user experience.
One of the more notable aspects of this unit is that it uses more eco-friendly parts than the typical portable air conditioner. Its refrigerant is CFC-free, and the unit uses lead-free components that comply with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive.
The only issue we had with this unit was its lack of handles. Moving it from room to room is relatively easy due to its low weight, but if you need to pick it up and over a lip, or haul it upstairs you may miss having something to grip onto. We think it's best for single-level homes.
