‘Parade’ at Limelight Theatre

If live theater is your choice of entertainment, we’ve got you covered there, too, with Limelight Theatre’s production of “Parade.” The play, set in 1913, is the story of a Brooklyn-raised Jewish man living in Georgia who is on trial for the murder of a 13-year-old girl who worked in his factory. His only defenders are his Southern wife and a governor with a conscience.

Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Limelight Theatre is at 11 Old Mission Ave. For information or tickets, call 904-825-1164 or visit limelight-theatre.org.

Militia muster at Fort Mose State Park

The St. Augustine area has a fascinating history, and a large part of that is the story of Fort Mose, the first free Black settlement in what was to become the United States. It was established in 1738 after being settled by escaped slaves who were given their freedom by the Spanish in St. Augustine if they converted to Catholicism.

The Militia Muster takes place from 9-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, with musket firing demonstrations and junior militia training with wooden toy muskets. This program is free.
