Don’t forget that the St. Augustine Music Festival continues through Saturday, and the OakFest at the Colonial Oak Music Park is also this weekend, along with farmers markets and the First Friday Art Walk.

And speaking of the First Friday Art Walk, Dee Roberts will be giving an artist talk at 6 p.m. Friday, July 1, at Butterfield Garage Gallery during the Art Walk. Roberts is known for her diverse skills as an artist and for her ability to “capture a fleeting moment of light.” She works with a variety of media and has won awards for her artwork around Florida and Georgia.

Also Friday evening, the Steve Miller Band will be onstage at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. Who can forget such classic hits as “Take the Money and Run,” “Fly Like an Eagle,” “Jet Airliner” and “Jungle Love?” The band’s songs, even from the 1970s, are instantly recognizable, and they’ll be performing starting at 7:30 p.m. July 1 to start off the holiday weekend.

We can’t talk about entertainment this weekend without mentioning the July Fourth Fireworks Over the Matanzas, a truly spectacular display over the bayfront and the Castillo de San Marcos. The fireworks show starts at 9:30 p.m. but it’s preceded by a free two-hour concert of patriotic and swing music by The All-Star Orchestra.

Suspense is the name of the game in this classic thriller that premiered in London in 1952 and was a hit Alfred Hitchcock movie. It centers around a man who wants to leave his wife but not her money, so he arranges for her murder, but things do not go as planned. The play is performed at Limelight Theatre through July 17.

A St. Johns County naturalist will lead a 7:30 p.m. Sunset Dolphin Beach Walk at Vilano Beach on Wednesday, July 6, so you can enjoy the sunset at the beach while learning about dolphins and whales found in this area. The beach walk is free but registration is required.
