It’s a busy weekend, in and around the Ancient City. There’s so much going on, now that the weather is getting milder and it’s easier and more comfortable to be out and about. This week you have a choice of a Greek Festival, a chocolate-focused operetta, a wine festival, a crop maze and a concert. As usual, there are also free concerts going on every week plus the First Friday Art Walk.

Greek Festival 2022
This annual celebration of Greek food, dance and music takes place Friday, Oct. 7, through Sunday, Oct. 9 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 2940 County Road 214. The festival honors the cultural and historical importance of Greek influence in St. Augustine and focuses on giving residents a real taste of Greece. On Friday, food can be picked up from preorders from the website, and on Saturday and Sunday there will be a marketplace, arts and crafts, Greek dancing performances and, of course, more food. 904-479-6729 or staugustinegreekfestival.com.
First Coast Opera: ‘Bon Appetit!’
What could be better than an operetta, Julia Child and chocolate? First Coast Opera is opening its 23rd season on Friday, Oct. 7, with “Bon Appetit!” an operetta that centers around Julia Child making a chocolate cake and demystifing the “wiles of chocolate.” The ticket price includes dinner, the opera and a chocolate dessert. Ponte Vedra Wine Festival
If worldwide wines are more to your liking, head to the Ponte Vedra Croquet Club, 100 Mosquito Control Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday for the Ponte Vedra Wine Festival. Sample fine and sparkling wines from 10 countries, including Italy, France, Spain, Argentina and Chile. Sykes Family Farms Crop Maze
It’s October, so it’s crop maze time again. The fun starts Friday, Oct. 7, and lasts until Oct. 30 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at Sykes Family Farms, 5995 Brough Road in Elkton. The maze comprises four phases of increasing difficulty, and other activities, such as hayrides, a cow train, duck races and a cow milking station, are included in the price of admission. Times are 6 to 10 p.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. 904-692-1370 or sycofarms.com.
Head and Heart Concert
This indie folk-rock band, which formed in 2009 in Seattle, will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13. Their music has been featured on the TV series “Hart of Dixie” and was the backing track for the movie “Silver Linings Playbook.” 904-209-0367 or theamp.com.
