Aug. 11—Evans United Shows Carnival returns to East Hills Mall: Four years into its partnership with the East Hills Shopping Center, the Evans United Shows Carnival remains a big hit. The carnival will return to the parking lot of the East Hills Shopping Center, 3702 Frederick Ave., starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17. It will run until 10 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21.

Soca Jukebox to close out Imagine Eleven series: Staying together for 20 years is a feat for any band.For the island-rock band Soca Jukebox, it's been about as breezy as the music the members play. The band will celebrate its 20th anniversary as it closes out the Imagine Eleven concert series at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14, at Coleman Hawkins Park at Felix Street Square. The Jason and Brandon Duo will open. It is free and open to the public.

River Bluff to host "Music Bingo" on Saturday: Get ready to show off your musical knowledge as River Bluff Brewing hosts a special game of "Music Bingo" at its location at 1224 Frederick Ave. at noon on Saturday, Aug. 13. Admission is $10 per Bingo card, with prizes available for the winners. Proceeds from the show will go to the Friends of the Animal Shelter.

Unplugged to welcome classic country-western singers: Channeling the sounds of yesteryear country and western music, the musical team of Marty Bush and Natalie Prauser will bring their unique sound to Unplugged, 2605 Frederick Ave., at 8 p.m. tonight. It is open to everyone 21 and older.

In Theaters: In St. Joseph, there is only one new movie in theaters this week. The comedy "Mack & Rita" (PG-13. In Theaters Only) has a 30-year-old writer (Elizabeth Lail) spends a wild weekend in Palm Springs and wakes up to find she has magically transformed into her 70-year-old self (Diane Keaton). In Kansas City, at the AMC Barrywoods 24, "Top Gun: Maverick" (PG-13) returns to its Prime theater for one week. The 40th anniversary of "E.T. — The Extra-Terrestrial" (PG) gets the celebratory IMAX treatment. The thriller "Fall" (PG-13) has best friends Becky (Grace Caroline Currey) and Hunter (Virginia Gardner) going on a thrill-seeking climb up a 2,000 foot radio tower that quickly turns treacherous.
