GEORGETOWN, DC — Patch asked and readers answered: what are your favorite businesses in the District? We put out a call for nominations for local businesses of the year. So far, restaurants, salons and a unique shop have risen to the top of your list.

Early spring, Filomena was painted, new safeguards employed, tables taken out, beautiful handmade dividers put in place. While doing that, the owner came up with a Plan B. Carryout. Great food, Marco is a real steward for the community too. A friend to the cops (both local and federal) who stop in on a regular basis, he also feeds hungry homeless folks too.
