Top basketball performers from last week in the Texas Panhandle

Here are the best of the best from the last week of high school basketball action in and around the Panhandle.

Dre Yarbrough, Tulia

Scored 23 points in Tulia's first win of the season last Tuesday against Slaton.

Elias Espino, Texline

In a nine-point loss to Palo Duro, the team leader put up 15 points.

Tana Davis, Canadian

The Wildcat junior dropped 25 points on Randall last week in a loss.

Avery Carter, Tascosa

After missing all of last season with an injury, Carter is off to a hot start. She scored 22 points against Randall last week.

Ashley Norman, Randall

Norman scored 22 against Canadian, 24 against Idalou, 14 against Sudan and 20 against Tascosa. That's a good week in any book.

Taylor Wallace, Plainview

The Bulldogs junior scored 16 points in a win over Randall last week.

Mila Thompson, Stratford

Scored 10 points in a win over Vega to lead the Lady Elks to a 4-1 start on the season.

Lucy Richards, Vega

Scored 10 in a loss to Bushland and and 11 in the game against Stratford.

Charley Spinks, Bushland

Sophomore was huge against Vega as she scored 19 points.

Zack Brown and Braden Hausen, Amarillo High

Cooper Pillon scored 24 points in a win over Austin Westlake and deserves recognition as well. Brown had 11 against AW, 18 against EP Chapin, 10 against Irving McArthur and 16 against Garland Lakeview Centenial. Hausen had 10 against GLC, 20 against IM, 20 against Chapin and 11 against AW.

Joshua Booth, Hedley

Hedley lost to PCHEA 53-46 on Friday, but Booth had a monster game as he scored 35 points.
