Here are the top Evansville-area athletes for week of January 10-15

This winter, the Courier & Press is highlighting the top high school performances each night. This will include all IHSAA sports. Those on the gridiron will still have the weekly Player of the Week award.

Here are the top performances for the week of January 10-15. The story will be updated through Saturday.

Monday, January 10

Ana Hewitt, Southridge: The senior set a new school record in a six-dive meet with a score of 219.45 in a meet against Forest Park, Central and Vincennes Lincoln.

Mya Johnson, Central: The senior had a game-high 15 points for the Bears in a 61-16 win over Bosse.

Avery Lasher, North: The swimmer set a new school record in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:13.28 against Bosse and Boonville.

Tuesday, January 11

Jameer Ajibade, Bosse: The senior notched a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds in a 75-70 win over Central.

Kayden Graber, Barr-Reeve: The senior drilled 10 3-pointers in a victory over Washington Catholic. It's a Blue Chip Conference record for the most threes in a single game.

Blake Herdes, Central: The junior scored a game-high 26 points and added eight rebounds in a loss to Bosse.

Isaac Higgs, Reitz: The junior had a career high 31 for the Panthers in a win over Boonville.

Avah Montgomery, Southridge: The freshman poured in a game-high 25 for the Raiders in a 42-39 overtime win over Northeast Dubois.

Tyler Myers, Day School: The junior erupted for 42 points against South Spencer. He is now fifth on the all-time Evansville scoring list at 1,631 points.

Jahni Summers, Harrison: The senior finished with 25 points and seven rebounds in a loss to North.

Mason Wicks, North: The senior had 12 points and eight boards in a 58-55 win over Harrison. His play was crucial down the stretch with key rebounds and two free throws to ice it.

Wednesday, January 12

Chloe Cardinal, Vincennes Lincoln: The senior had 19 points in a 59-40 win over Central. The Alices were missing three starters due to COVID-19 contact tracing.

Mimi White, Central: The sophomore scored a team-high 19 in a conference loss to Vincennes.

Thursday, January 13

Jada Banks, Heritage Hills: The senior set two school records in a meet against Jasper. Banks won the 100 freestyle in 56.10 seconds and the 50 freestyle in 25.49 seconds.

Jordan Coon, Castle: The senior hit six threes and finished with 22 points in a 53-49 win over Memorial.

Chloey Graham, Gibson Southern: The sophomore led the Titans with 21 points and six rebounds in a 58-54 win over Tecumseh.

Jaidn Green, North: The senior set a school record with 35 points (six threes) in an 81-32 win over Vincennes Lincoln.

Jesse Ledgerwood, Washington: The senior had a game-high 18 points (4 of 8 from deep) for the Hatchets in a 59-27 win against North Posey.

Kaybree Oxley: The senior went off for 29 points and 12 rebounds in a loss to Gibson Southern.

Molly Schulte, South Spencer: The sophomore had 21 points and five rebounds for the Rebels in a 41-29 win over Southridge.

Friday, January 14

Matthew Bunnell, North: The senior scored 27 points and hit a school record nine 3-pointers in a victory over Vincennes Lincoln.

Blake Herdes, Central: The junior finished with 24 points (six 3-pointers) and eight rebounds in a 66-54 win against Evansville Christian.

Drew Howard, Forest Park: The senior scored 26 points and added six rebounds in a loss to South Spencer.

Kaden Hurless, Gibson Southern: The senior scored 24 points in a 57-40 victory over Princeton.

Kaden Neukam, Southridge: The senior notched 25 points in a 52-48 home win against Mount Vernon.

Logan Riester, Washington: The senior finished with 26 points in a 51-34 victory over North Knox.

Trent Sisley, Heritage Hills: The freshman scored a game-high 25 points in a loss to Pike Central.

Makenzie Smith, Heritage Hills: The sophomore won the Indiana High School Girls Wrestling State Championship in the 98-pound weight class. All three of her victories on the day came by pin.

Tucker Tornatta, Memorial: The sophomore finished with 22 points and was instrumental down the stretch for the Tigers' in a 63-56 road overtime win against rival Mater Dei.

Hannah West, Mount Vernon: The sophomore won her second consecutive state championship in the IHSGW State Finals in the 170-pound weight class. All three victories came by pin.

Saturday, January 15

Jameer Ajibade, Bosse: The senior guard went off for 34 points (six threes) in a 69-53 win over Christian County in the Warrior Showcase.

Drew Howard, Forest Park: The senior notched 25 points, seven rebounds and five assists in a strong win over North Posey.

Kencia Levasseur, Washington: The senior led the Hatchets with 29 points in a thrilling 81-75 double overtime win at Gibson Southern.

Hadley Lytton, Heritage Hills: The senior scored 23 points in a 49-25 win over Mount Vernon.

Jackson Mitchell, Castle: The senior had quite the season debut following ankle surgery in November. Mitchell had 14 points and four assists in a win over Springfield Southeast, followed by 18 points in a victory against Christian County.

J.T. Smallwood, Heritage Hills: The senior scored 21 points on seven 3-pointers in a 70-37 defeat of Tecumseh.

Gabby Spink, Gibson Southern: The freshman erupted for 33 points and made a single game school record nine 3-pointers in a loss to Washington.

Jahni Summers, Harrison: The senior notched 25 points and eight rebounds in a 58-53 win over Springfield Southeast.

Amber Tretter, Forest Park: The junior totaled 20 points, eight rebounds and five blocks in a 51-27 win over Barr-Reeve.

Dylan Watson, Castle: The junior center had a career high 19 points, including a key putback late in overtime, during a win over Springfield Southeast.
