Lydia Ko is ending 2022 as the No. 1 ranked female golfer in the world — and as a newly wedded woman.

Ko, who reached the top spot on Rolex's Women's World Golf Rankings after winning the CME Group Tour Championship in late November, tied the knot with her fiancé Chung Jun in Seoul's Myeongdong Cathedral on Friday.

The New Zealander previously announced her engagement to Chung, whose father is the vice chairman of Seoul credit card company Hyundai Card, in August.

Ko shared pictures of her wedding on her Instagram Stories.

Her wedding is the final milestone in what has been a landmark year for Ko.

As her first multi-win season since 2016, Ko won three times on the LPGA Tour, with her November victory at the CME Group Tour Championship netting her $2 million, the largest prize in women's golf history, eclipsing Minjee Lee's $1.8 million prize in June.

Along with being named Player of the Year and winning the Vare Trophy for the best scoring average, this is also the first time Ko has ranked No. 1 since 2017.
