Having set the laughter bar high in the series' premiere last week (June 16), new Top Gear presenters Freddie Flintoff and Paddy McGuinness, along with the returning Chris Harris, were at it again in tonight's hilarious episode (June 23).

This time, in an electric car special, the trio were tasked with building themselves budget electric sports cars, ranging from a Triumph Spitfire packed with a BMW i3 battery to a purple and orange Nissan Leaf with wing doors that wouldn't close properly.

In their first challenge, the boys competed for the fastest time as they raced their cars around a deserted factory. But it was the second challenge, in which they had to drive through a karting track whilst being electrocuted, that really had viewers in hysterics.

One viewer tweeted: "Funniest thing I've seen on telly for years. Paddy on Top Gear getting shocked in the electric car challenge. I peed myself. Honestly."

While another wrote: "I'm screaming!! @BBC_TopGear The electric shock test was absolutely hilarious!! I'm crying."

Just to top things off, the person with the slowest time round the karting track (Chris) had to undergo a forfeit, which involved him drinking a glass of milk whilst being (you guessed it) electrocuted by a thoroughly entertained Freddie.

And if you were wondering, the milk went everywhere – and Freddie laughed like a hyena in a tickle fight.

Top Gear airs on Sundays at 8pm on BBC Two.
