Top high school football players across MetroWest, Milford region Week 12

From stuffing to gravy to apple pie, Week 12 provided lots of Turkey Day treats.

The Daily News presents its Players of the Week from the final week of the high school football season.

Offensive

Johnny Bennett, Dover-Sherborn

This senior Swiss-army knife scored four total touchdowns – two receiving, one rushing and one interception return – in the Raiders’ blowout win over Medfield.

Luke Frauton, Medway

This junior left-handed QB went 7-for-11 for 128 yards and two touchdowns while adding eight rushes, 78 yards and one TD on the ground in the Mustangs’ victory over Millis.

Adam Goodfellow, Wayland

This dual-threat QB rushed 20 times for 201 yards and three touchdowns in the Warriors’ win over Thanksgiving rival Weston.

Luke Herter, Ashland

This senior QB tossed 10 completions for 175 yards and two touchdowns while adding seven carries for 52 yards and two TDs in the Clockers’ Thanksgiving Day win over Hopkinton.

Thomas Hirsh, Sr., AMSA

This senior rushed for over 200 yards (to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark on the season) and two touchdowns in the Maynard/AMSA co-op win over Littleton.

Cole Hostage, Algonquin

This dual-threat quarterback went 4-for-5 for 87 yards and three passing TDs while adding eight rushes for 138 yards and two scores on the ground in Algonquin’s Turkey Day win over Westborough.

Trey Howe & Josh Mateo, Blackstone Valley Tech

These two senior running back each scored three touchdowns in the Beavers’ big win over cross-street rival Nipmuc at Fenway Park.

TJ Kiley, Holliston

This junior quarterback went 20-for-30 for 216 yards and two tossing TDs as visiting Holliston edged rival Westwood.

Shane Kindred, Franklin

This senior wide receiver corralled five catches – one of them being of the one-hand variety – for 159 yards and three touchdowns in the Panthers’ big Turkey Day win over rival King Philip.

Riley O’Connell & Nolan O’Brien, Lincoln-Sudbury

This dynamic duo capped their high school careers in style with a combined five total touchdowns in a Thanksgiving Day win over Newton South. O’Connell went 15-for-22 passing for 243 yards and a TD while also collecting a receiving TD and a rushing score while O'Brien made seven receptions for 140 yards, a touchdown and a passing TD to O'Connell.

Defensive

Sam Gear, Wellesley

This senior captain picked off a pass on a defense and returned it for a score while also adding a circus catch on offense for a 55-yard TD reception in the Raiders’ wild Turkey Day win over Needham.

Matt Gillis, Ashland

This senior made 11 tackles (4 for a loss) and three sacks on defense while adding three catches for 85 yards and one touchdown on offense in the Clockers’ rout of Hopkinton.

Bobby Haarde, Lincoln-Sudbury

This senior made six tackles, 1.5 sacks, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble for a touchdown in the Warriors’ win over Newton South on Turkey Day.

Connor Kewley, Medway

This senior defensive back made 11 tackles (2 for a loss) and picked off a pass in the Mustangs’ Thanksgiving Day win over Millis.

Nealon Stemple, Marlborough

This junior racked up three tackles and an interception while also adding two rushing TDs on offense in the Panthers’ win over Hudson.
