Top Kentucky basketball recruiting links: No. 1 UK target on TV, more updates on Next Cats
The final day of Hoophall Classic games is set for Monday, and Kentucky fans can watch a future Wildcat and one of John Calipari’s biggest recruiting targets in an afternoon doubleheader.
Combo guard DJ Wagner, the No. 1 recruit nationally in the 2023 class, will play with his Camden (N.J.) squad at 1 p.m. Monday on ESPNU. Immediately after that, UK signee Skyy Clark will lead Montverde Academy (Fla.) in a 3 p.m. game that will also be shown live on ESPNU. The Montverde roster also includes star junior Kwame Evans Jr., who has an early UK scholarship offer, as well as sophomore Derik Queen, the No. 2 player in the ESPN rankings for 2024.
Calipari left Lexington following UK’s win over Tennessee on Saturday and was at the Hoophall Classic for a Sunday slate that featured UK signee Chris Livingston and top-ranked 2023 targets Mackenzie Mgbako and Mookie Cook, who both have early Kentucky offers.
