Top Kentucky basketball recruiting links: No Crystal Ball bump yet for the Wildcats

It’s been a week since Kentucky extended a scholarship offer to five-star wing Justin Edwards, but there’s been no Crystal Ball bump yet for the Wildcats.

Edwards -- a 6-foot-7 wing from Philadelphia -- picked up the offer during an official visit to UK last weekend, the first such trip of his recruitment. Going into the visit, the buzz in recruiting circles was that Kentucky would be the team to beat if it came through with an offer, but there have been zero Crystal Ball picks or Rivals.com FutureCast predictions logged since that trip, a bit surprising given the chatter behind the scenes. Often, under such circumstances, a flurry of Crystal Ball activity will follow as soon as the perceived favorite in a recruitment extends an offer.

UConn has also done a terrific job in Edwards’ recruitment, and this will be one to keep an eye on over the next few weeks to see if there’s any movement on the prediction pages. Edwards is the No. 11 overall player in the 247Sports rankings for the 2023 class, and he’s seen as a high-IQ, high-floor prospect who should make an immediate impact on college. He recently called Kentucky his “dream school” growing up.
