More Kentucky basketball recruiting links: Yohan Traore plans commitment ‘pretty soon’

It’s assumed in basketball recruiting circles that if five-star center Yohan Traore receives a scholarship offer from Kentucky, he’ll take an official visit to Lexington before he makes a college decision.

UK Coach John Calipari watched the 6-foot-10 post player earlier this month, but there’s been no news yet of a scholarship offer from the Wildcats, who might be running short on time in this recruitment. In a story posted Saturday morning, Traore told Rivals.com that he is looking to make a commitment soon.

“I don’t have an exact decision date decided yet, but I will be committing pretty soon, December or January,” he said.

Traore is ranked No. 4 nationally by Rivals.com, making him the best available prospect in the 2022 class and the only uncommitted big man in the group that could be expected to be an instant-impact freshman at UK, which does not have any frontcourt commitments for next season. Traore continues to list Kansas, Memphis, Michigan and Texas Tech as the four schools he’s most interested in.
