An announcement and a question, courtesy Champaign American Legion Post 24:

— The recipient of February's award for proper display of the American flag is Western Star Masonic Lodge 240 at 14 Bel Air Court in Champaign. When Lodge Master Rudi Laufhutte was elected in 2023, he made it his mission to replace the flagpole. That project was completed in November and looks spectacular. Our Dave Hinton will have more on Laufhutte in an upcoming Name Dropping column.
