The NBA 2021 Playoffs are set to start on May 16th (play-in tournament) followed by a regular 16 team playoff starting on May 22nd. Who has the most to play for? This is important information to know when you construct your daily fantasy lineups. I just wanted to quickly go over the end-of-year standings. Let’s start with the Western Conference. The Portland Trail Blazers have yet to clinch the playoffs with the Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and Memphis Grizzlies close behind. The Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Oklahoma City Thunder are all eliminated from contention. The Sacramento Kings, New Orleans Pelicans, and San Antonio Spurs take up the 10th, 11th, and 12th spots and are not far behind. The Utah Jazz and Dallas Mavericks have clinched their divisions while the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Clippers, and Denver Nuggets have clinched a playoff berth.

As for the Eastern Conference, the Milwaukee Bucks have clinched their division while the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets are the only Eastern Conference teams to have clinched a playoff berth. The New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks, Miami Heat, and Boston Celtics are very close in the 4-7 seeds while the Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers, and Chicago Bulls make up the Eastern Conference 8-11 seeds. Just something to keep in mind while constructing your lineups tonight.

Point Guard

Coby White - Chicago Bulls (vs. Detroit Pistons)

Two of my top plays on tonight’s slate are Chicago’s Coby White and Zach LaVine. White will match up against Detroit's Hayes who struggles at times defensively. I do expect the Bulls to win in a big way tonight also making Nikola Vucevic a solid cash game player for tonight. White has averaged 33.9 DK points per game over his last five games. Over this span, he is also averaging 32.0 minutes per game. He’s only shooting 42% from the field which tells you his usage is through the roof. White totaled 47.75 Draftkings points at a salary of $6,900 just two nights ago against the Boston Celtics. White is one of my top plays on tonight‘s slate at a salary of $7,100 on Draftkings, $6,100 on Fanduel, and sitting at just $21 on YahooFantasy. White has a healthy Chicago Bulls roster behind him tonight. I do think he runs the offense efficiently against a Detroit team that is eliminated from playoff contention and has lost eight of their last 11 games.

Other PG Option: Theo Maledon & Delon Wright

Shooting Guard

Zach LaVine - Chicago Bulls (vs. Detroit Pistons)

Zach LaVine is another solid play in tonight's six games slate. As you can tell, I like the Chicago Bulls against a Detroit team that could possibly be without Jerami Grant as he is uncertain for Sunday’s match-up. Saddiq Bay, Frank Jackson, Killian Hayes, and Isaiah Stewart do not have the ability to keep this game close, especially with Joseph, Jackson, Diallo, and Plumlee all out for tonight‘s matchup. Detroit could potentially lose by 20+ points tonight if Grant is confirmed out. currently has the Chicago Bulls at -9 point favorites with a 218.5 over-under. Give me the Chicago Bulls all day as I expect them to demolish a Detroit Pistons team that will be lacking depth and skill tonight. White and LaVine can be played together. Some might find this controversial but I do think White distributes the ball well tonight and Zach LaVine would be a recipient of that distribution. Lock in White, and LaVine for tonight‘s 8:00 pm ET matchup.

Other SG Option: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope & Charlie Brown

Small Forward

Darius Bazley - Oklahoma City Thunder (vs. Sacramento Kings)

Dort is officially OUT for tonight. The Oklahoma City Thunder were demolished by the Golden State Warriors last night and will look to redeem themselves against a Sacramento team that will be without De’Aaron Fox and possibly Buddy Hield. Sacramento has other injuries including Halliburton and Barnes, Buddy Hield is the newest addition to their growing injury report. Oklahoma City can realistically win this game if Buddy is confirmed OUT. Delon Wright, cannot carry a team like Fox, Halliburton or Hield can. Moses Brown and Isaiah Roby could be solid matchups against Marvin Bagley and Holmes. Brown and Roby are aggressive on the boards while Darius Bazley can stretch the floor. Bazley will match up well against Maurice Harkless with Maledon playing better and better by the day. This is a controversial prediction but I will be calling for the Oklahoma City Thunder Moneyline tonight. I do believe they can beat the Sacramento Kings as long as Buddy Hield is not playing (even with Dort out). Monitor confirmed lineups for this information but simply put, Oklahoma City Thunder players could be low-owned with massive fantasy upsides for tonight’s machup against a Kings team that could be without Buddy Hield as well as many other key players. Check confirmed lineups! I think pairing Maledon with Brown (as well as Darius Bazle) is a solid GPP team stack for tonight!

Other SF Option: Terrence Davis

Power Forward

Jarred Vanderbilt - Minnesota Timberwolves (vs. Orlando Magic)

It’s very tough to make decisions for this article with so much up in the air around 5 PM Eastern. I try to do my best to include information that will still be accurate for the 7:00 pm EST lock, which this year is becoming increasingly more difficult. For PF, I decided to turn to the NBC optimizer. My top take of the day is that the Oklahoma City Thunder will win at 10:00 pm ET against the Sacramento Kings but this is what we use optimizers for. When you have trouble completing a DFS lineup, an optimizer shows you the optimal way to complete it. Tonight, our NBC Sports Edge NBA DFS Optimizer has Anthony Edwards projected for high totals along with Jarred Vanderbilt. This is interesting because both players are forwards on the same team. Vanderbilt has a significantly lower salary but his projected points for tonight‘s matchup are still high at 31.4 FP. It’s clear that the optimal lineup will include at least one of the Minnesota Forwards. Whether you would like to play both Vanderbilt and Edwards or one of the two, it’s important to have exposure to at least one of the PF's. Minnesota who will be matching up against Orlando and Moritz Wagner. Wagner is not known for his defense but does have a solid three-point shot. If Vanderbilt does not match up well against the lengthy 245 lbs power forward I am confident that Anthony Edwards will benefit. I do expect both Edwards and Vanderbilt to start tonight‘s match-up. Mo Bamba will be starting for Orlando which makes things interesting against Karl Anthony Towns. Ricky Rubio becomes a solid play at point guard against Cole Anthony. Minnesota is favored by -7.5 points with a 231.5 over-under on As of this moment, more money is coming in on the over (at -121).

Other PF Option: P.J. Washington & Moritz Wagner

Moses Brown - Oklahoma City Thunder (vs. Sacramento Kings)

As I mentioned in my small forward write-up, I love the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight. Moses Brown becomes one of my top plays for GPP purposes. Brown attacks the boards aggressively and against Holmes and Bagley With Fox, Barnes, Hield, and Halliburton all potentially out for tonight‘s match-up, I see him benefiting greatly. Roby is another option for an Oklahoma City game stack but, if Buddy is out, my top players from this game become Theo Maldon, Moses Brown, and Darius Bazley. currently has the Oklahoma City Thunder at +320 with a 223 over-under. The Kings allow high percentages from three-point land. I see a lot of three-point shots from Bazley with Moses Brown cleaning up the boards.

Other C Option: Isaiah Stewart, Mo Bamba & Nikola Vucevic
