Corn Mazes – There are some truly amazing corn mazes out there this fall. Denver Downs in Anderson has won numerous awards. This year the maze is themed around country music legend Reba McEntire. This year Strawberry Hill USA in Chesnee has a Big Foot-themed three-in-one maze. Stewart Farms in Enoree has themed this year’s maze after Reba McEntire as well. Grab your compass and some friends and get lost…in a maze.

Pick Your Own – From apples to pumpkins, getting to a farm and selecting your own goods is enjoyable for everybody. Find pick-your-own farms from West Union and Mountain Rest all the way to Chesnee and Gaffney that would be perfect for an afternoon of fun. There’s a list for the entire state at pickyourown.org/SC.htm.

Haunted Houses – Though they might be more suited for teenagers, haunted houses in the area can be a scary good time for families. Some of them, such as Madworld in Piedmont, have a low/no scare option, as well as activities like mini-golf, live music, and bonfires. Others, like Nightmare Dungeon and Sweet Dreams Scare House, are for more mature audiences and have some pretty strong warnings on their websites, but they might be exactly what your nightmares are made of.
