BOYS BASKETBALL

Monday

  • Jon Gurrola scored 15 points, Travis Valenzuela and Caleb Sebek each had 10 points, and Jack Rose contributed eight points to lead Ventura to a 52-44 win over host Santa Clara on the first day of the Coach C Classic. JD Pettit led the Saints with 14 points.

  • Nathan Duarte scored 28 points and David Williams had 18 points and five rebounds for Rio Mesa in its 70-66 loss to Golden Valley at the Coach C Classic.

  • Austin Maziasz finished with 24 points and seven rebounds and Kayden Elsokary had 16 points and four rebounds to lead Westlake to a 62-49 win over Camarillo at the Coach C Classic. Tyler Hook scored 18 points, Chase Aronowitz had 12 points and Josh Castaniero added eight points for the Scorpions.

  • Frankie Kostenuik scored 19 points, Cooper Lucas had 16 points, Johnny Kostenuik had nine points, Noah Cotton had eight points, and Evan Stubblefield had seven points for Newbury Park in its 67-65 loss to Brentwood at the Coach C Classic.

  • Theo Briscoe finished with 17 points, four rebounds and four assists, Sergio Ornelas had 10 points and eight rebounds, Richard Miranda scored seven points, and Josh Joyner added four points and six steals to lead Pacifica to a 43-28 win over host Villanova Prep. Gavin Day had 10 points and 10 rebounds and Brady Crawford had eight points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats.

  • Zane Miller poured in 29 points, Zach Ourfalian had 10 points and DJ Jacobs added eight points to lead Agoura to a 76-48 win over Kennedy in the first game of the West Valley Tournament at Chaminade.

  • Ace Arnold connected on nine 3-pointers and finished with 32 points, Drew Romano had 17 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, Preston Lowry scored 16 points, Parker Hill contributed 10 points, and Royal tied a program record with 15 3-pointers in its 85-45 win over Glendale.

  • Andre Mojica scored 18 points and Jordan Ramirez had 16 points to lead Santa Paula to a 72-37 win over Foothill Tech. Ashton Brown led the Dragons with 14 points.

  • Beckham Rutherford scored 13 points, Willem Rutherford had 11 points, and Luke Wells added nine points for Nordhoff in its 64-52 loss to Rialto in the Jurupa Hills Tournament.

Tuesday

  • Ethan Macias finished with 21 points and Nathan Duarte had 13 points to lead Rio Mesa to a 56-48 win over Camarillo at the Coach C Classic. Chase Aronowitz scored 20 points, Josh Castaniero had nine points and Tyler Hook had eight points for the Scorpions.

  • Cooper Lucas dropped in 33 points, Johnny Kostenuik had eight points and Brady Smigiel added seven points to lead Newbury Park to a 63-39 win over Ventura at the Coach C Classic. Josh Woodworth had 10 points, Travis Valenzuela had nine points, Jake Auster had eight points, and Jack Rose had six points for the Cougars.

  • Austin Maziasz finished with 20 points, nine rebounds and two blocks, Aidan Delavari had 14 points, three rebounds and two blocks, Kayden Elsokary had eight points and nine rebounds, and Connor Zhang grabbed seven rebounds to lead Westlake to a 59-41 win over Golden Valley at the Coach C Classic.

  • Dylan Benner had 11 points and five rebounds, Jeremy Goodcase scored 10 points, Sam Seiden, Jaden Whitehead and Nate Loomis each had nine points, and Isaiah Marin had seven points to lead St. Bonaventure (3-0) to a 73-27 win over Villanova Prep. Gavin Day had 14 points and Ethan Day added nine points for the Wildcats.

  • Nazir Ivey scored 14 points, Da'shaye Williams had 13 points, Marc Ortiz had 10 points, and Ta'jon Larkin contributed nine points to lead Channel Islands (1-2) to a 47-33 win over Foothill Tech. Sam Noah scored 16 points and Nick Drucker chipped in seven points for the Dragons.

  • Jake Yson scored 18 points, Eric Lerma had 14 points, and Jacob Cunningham and Joseph Richardson each added seven points to lead Hueneme (1-2) to a 56-49 victory over Trinity Classical Academy.

  • Luke Wells scored 20 points, Beckham Rutherford had 16 points and Campbell Gaston had 13 points to lead Nordhoff to a 75-63 win over Jurupa Hills at the Jurupa Hills Tournament.

  • Johnny Kostenuik scored 25 points, Cooper Lucas had 16 points, Brady Smigiel added 11 points, and Frankie Kostenuik contributed seven points to lead Newbury Park to a 66-47 win over Santa Clara at the Coach C Classic.

  • Travis Valenzuela scored 19 points and Jake Auster had 13 points for Ventura in its 56-48 loss to Brentwood at the Coach Classic.

  • Chase Aronowitz scored 14 points for Camarillo in its 48-46 loss to Golden Valley at the Coach C Classic.

  • Willem Rutherford hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 2.6 seconds left and finished with 20 points, and Jeremy Stevens and all-tournament selection Luke Wells each had 14 points to lead Nordhoff (4-1) to a 63-62 win over Corona-Santiago at the Jurupa Hills Tournament.

  • Gavin Murphy scored 34 points and Peter Gray had 17 points to lead Calabasas to a 76-67 win over Knight at the West Valley Tournament.

Friday

  • James Olofson and MJ Coleman were tournament co-MVPs as Brentwood hit a 3-pointer in the final seconds to defeat Westlake 55-53 in the championship game of the Coach C Classic at Santa Clara High. Kayden Elsokary finished with 21 points, eight rebounds and two steals, Aidan Delavari had 11 points and six rebounds, Danny Bao had seven points and six rebounds, and Austin Maziasz had six points and 11 rebounds for the Warriors (3-1).

  • All-tournament selection Cooper Lucas scored 26 points, Johnny Kostenuik had 11 points, and Charlie Muir and Jace Birdsong each had nine points to lead Newbury Park to a 69-61 win over Rio Mesa in the third-place game of the Coach C Classic. Nathan Duarte scored 21 points, Ethan Macias had 14 points and Rodney Adams Jr. had 10 points for the Spartans.

  • Chase Aronowitz scored 19 points, Tyler Hook and Jack Bannon each had nine points, and Marcos Jaquez added seven points to lead Camarillo (1-3) to a 73-31 win over Santa Clara in the Coach C Classic.

  • Travis Valenzuela scored 17 points and Finn Fancher had 12 points for Ventura (1-3) in its 57-49 loss to Golden Valley in the Coach C Classic.

  • Zane Miller poured in 29 points, Nasir Meyer had 16 points and Zach Ourfalian added eight points to lead Agoura to a 61-50 victory over Valencia in the semifinals of the West Valley Tournament.

  • Isayah Garcia dropped in 26 points, Brett Johnson had 14 points, Nick Giarrusso had 12 points, and Connor Claeys had 10 points to lead Oaks Christian (3-0) to a 71-57 victory over Los Gatos.

  • Calabasas (4-2) lost to Crespi 57-49 at the West Valley Tournament.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Monday

  • Karisma Lewis finished with 22 points and five rebounds, Riannah Lopez had 11 points, four rebounds and two steals, and Olivia Decierdo added four points and four steals to lead Buena to a 45-29 win over Foothill Tech.

  • Faith Madsen had 15 points, seven rebounds and three blocks, Hailey Ginnever scored nine points, Yannie Savage finished with six points and eight rebounds, and senior Kaitlyn Padilla added five points and seven assists to lead Simi Valley to a 53-51 win over Newbury Park.

  • Abrial Ramirez finished with 20 points, eight rebounds, seven blocks and three steals, Yazmin Wiggins had nine points, 19 rebounds, five assists and three steals, Kaydn Sanchez scored seven points, and Miranda Williams added six points, two assists and three steals to lead Santa Clara to a 47-39 win over Carpinteria in the Nordhoff Tournament.

Tuesday

  • Keilani Peralta hit six 3-pointers and finished with 25 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals, Emily Lim had 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals, Christa Contreras added eight points, six rebounds and four steals, MaKenzie Anderson had four points and six rebounds, and Makenna Phelan added two points and nine rebounds to lead Camarillo (3-2) to a 50-31 win over Buena.

  • Bella Rico scored 16 points, Jennifer Garcia had 13 points, Talia Behrens had nine points, and Kalea Maielua added seven points to lead St. Bonaventure to a 58-15 win over Hueneme in the Nordhoff Tournament.

  • Abrial Ramirez finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals, Yazmin Wiggins had 11 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds and three steals, and Abrianna Ramirez had 10 points, three steals and two assists to lead Santa Clara to a 48-33 win over Thousand Oaks in the Nordhoff Tournament.

  • Omamoke Okah had 14 points and nine rebounds, Jordan Schwesinger had six points and nine rebounds, and Lola Donez had four points seven rebounds and three blocks for Oaks Christian (2-2) in its 38-32 loss to Granada Hills.

  • Miahanna Galvan finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds, Alyse Ramirez had nine points, three rebounds and two steals, Maddi Stonebraker had six points and eight rebounds, Jen Castillo had four points and three steals, Jalynn Rico had three points, three rebounds and two steals, and Alyssa Garcia had three points and four rebounds for Santa Paula in its 58-42 loss to Golden Valley.

Wednesday

  • Agoura (4-0) defeated Santa Clara 62-51 in the championship game of the Nordhoff Tournament. Abrial Ramirez scored 18 points, all-tournament selection Yazmin Wiggins had 16 points, 14 rebounds and five assists, and Sara Briones scored seven points for the Saints.

  • Erika Sanchez finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, seven steals and five assists, Nataly Vigil had 17 points and three rebounds, Analise Luna had 12 points and 18 rebounds, and Aryanne Munoz had 12 points and five steals to lead Fillmore (1-1) to a 69-6 win over Castaic.

BOYS SOCCER

Monday

  • Victor Vasquez, Kanan Welch and Pancho Ramirez scored goals, Gio Munguia had two assists, Bennett Torgerson had an assist, and Sebastian Conchas earned the shutout in net as Ventura opened its season with a 3-0 win over Fillmore.

  • Pabel Ayala had a goal and an assist, Christian Escarcega scored a goal, Anthony Castellanos had an assist, and goalkeeper Anthony Velasquez stopped two penalty kicks to lift Oxnard to a 2-1 victory over Santa Paula.

  • Tyler Nagel netted a hat trick, Michael Mariscal scored a goal and Max Fernandez had an assist to lead Camarillo to a 4-1 victory over Santa Barbara.
