Here are the top basketball teams in the Oshkosh Northwestern/Fond du Lac Reporter coverage area. Teams are ranked "pound-for-pound" in relation to success and enrollment size.

Girls basketball

1. Waupun (17-0): Warriors are top-ranked team in latest Associated Press Division 3 state poll and are led in scoring by Abbie Aalsma (20.2 points). Next: Thursday vs. Ripon.

3. St. Mary's Springs (13-3): Ledgers have Flyway Conference showdown with league leader Laconia on Tuesday. Next: Thursday vs. Mayville.

4. Oakfield (13-3): Oaks still atop Trailways-East standings and are coming off 78-28 victory over Wayland Academy. Next: Friday vs. Horicon.

5. Lourdes Academy (13-4): Knights back in top five and are led in scoring (15.6) and assists (4.2) by Hailee Bauer. Next: Friday vs. Hustisford.

Others: Winnebago Lutheran (11-3).

Boys basketball

1. Oshkosh North (14-3): Spartans retire the jersey of former standout Tyrese Haliburton last Friday then knock off upstart Hortonville 71-68 the next day. Next: Friday at Kimberly.

2. St. Mary's Springs (11-4): Ledgers climb back into top five and are atop Flyway Conference by a half game. Next: Monday at New Holstein.

3. Campbellsport (12-2): Cougars a half-game behind St. Mary's Springs in Flyway Conference championship race. Next: Friday at North Fond du Lac.

4. Oakfield (11-3): Oaks drop a spot after 55-40 loss to Randolph on Saturday. Next: Thursday vs. Lourdes Academy.

5. Lourdes Academy (10-4): Dominic Kane (15.0) and Malith Liabwell (14.6) lead Knights in scoring. Next: Thursday at Oakfield.

Others: Mayville (10-5), Laconia (10-6), Winnebago Lutheran (11-4).
