Top running back prospect, five-star defender on Georgia’s visitors list for Auburn game

Kirby Smart said earlier this week that he expects Saturday’s environment between Auburn and Georgia to be really good. It’s by far the biggest home game for the No. 2 Bulldogs thus far, though there is a lot of uncertainty within the Auburn football program.
With a 3:30 kickoff and the game on CBS, it’ll be a great opportunity for Smart and his staff to show recruits what an SEC game day looks like.
Here’s a running list of recruits that have either announced they’ll be in Athens this weekend or it’s been reported that they’ll be at the game. This list will be updated throughout the week leading up to kickoff.

Official visits
RB Roderick Robinson II, 2023, UCLA commit, San Diego, California
The night before Georgia played a game in Columbia, Missouri, running backs coach Dell McGee was in San Diego watching Robinson rush for 217 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-17 win for Lincoln. Even before missing on Justice Haynes and Richard Young, this 6-foot-1, 230-pound four-star back was high on McGee’s list. Currently, Georgia doesn’t have a RB commit in their 2023 class, so this visit is crucial. Robinson is rated the No. 15 running back in the class, per 247Sports Composite. In seven games this season, he has put up 1,501 yards, 21 touchdowns and is averaging 12.4 yards per carry.
RB coach Dell McGee checked out four-star running back Roderick Robinson in California Friday night. Robinson is committed to UCLA currently, but he’s towards the top of #UGA’s running back board. https://t.co/vjZs4DzsrT

EDGE Damon Wilson, 2023, uncommitted, Venice, Florida
This five-star edge defender has already taken official visits to Alabama and Ohio State, but Georgia is in the thick of Wilson’s recruitment. In July, he had those three schools, Miami and Texas in his Top 5. He took an unofficial visit to Athens in June after receiving an offer from the Bulldogs in March. Though there are already several strong defensive linemen in Georgia’s 2023 class, adding Wilson’s speed and size would be big. On3’s recruiting prediction machine gives UGA a leading 36% of landing Wilson and he would be the second five-star in Georgia’s class if he were to commit to the Bulldogs.
