Top-seeded Moorpark soccer among 10 local teams in CIF-State regional playoffs

Six years after pulling off a section and regional double, the Moorpark High girls soccer team has a chance to repeat the feat this week.

Three days after winning the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 championship with a golden goal by sophomore Zaina Barakat, the Muskteers will open the CIF-State Southern California regional playoffs as the top seed.

Moorpark will host Upland-Western Christian on Tuesday in the first round of the Division 3 regional playoffs.

Ten local basketball and soccer teams will open CIF-State Southern California regional play Tuesday.

Oaks Christian girls soccer is seeded No. 7 in the Division 1 regional. The Lions visit No. 2 San Diego-Westview on Tuesday.

Westlake High girls soccer is seeded No. 7 in the Division 2 regional. The Warriors visit No. 2 San Marcos — of the San Diego Section — on Tuesday.

Agoura High boys soccer is seeded No. 5 in the Division 2 regional. The Chargers visit No. 4 Santa Maria on Tuesday.

Oak Park girls basketball, the CIF-SS Division 5 champion, is the No. 11 seed in Division III. The Eagles will visit No. 6 Tehachapi in the first round Tuesday.

Oxnard boys basketball is the No. 5 seed in the Division II regional. The Yellowjackets will host No. 12 Narbonne in the first round Tuesday.

There are two local teams in the Division III and Division IV boys basketball regionals.

Buena and Camarillo are seeded No. 8 seed and No. 12, respectively, in Division III.

The Bulldogs host No. 9 Del Notre and the Scorpions will visit No. 5 San Diego on Tuesday.

St. Bonaventure and Santa Paula are seeded No. 3 and No. 13, respectively, in Division IV.

The Seraphs will host No. 14 Eagle Rock and the Cardinals will visit No. 4 South Gate on Tuesday.
