Here are the top seeds and qualifiers for the WIAA girls state swimming and diving championships
The 53rd Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association girls swimming and diving championships will be held Friday and Saturday at Waukesha South High School.
The Division 2 meet is Friday, with diving starting at 1:30 p.m. and swimming finals at 5:30 p.m. The Division 1 meet is Saturday, with diving at 9:30 a.m. and swimming at 2:30 p.m.
Here’s a look at the top contenders and all of the area qualifiers in both divisions:
Division 2
Amber Hess, jr., Kohler co-op
Hess comes into the state meet with the fourth-best qualifying score in diving and also has the sixth-fastest qualifying time in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Sienna Nitke, jr., Ashwaubenon
She has the third-fastest qualifying time in the 100 freestyle and the fourth-fastest time in the 200-yard freestyle.
Bry Bellile, sr., Ashwaubenon
She has the fastest qualifying time in the 100 freestyle and the fourth-fastest time in the 50-yard freestyle.
Paige Dekiep, jr., Tomahawk
She has the third-fastest qualifying time in the 100 butterfly and also qualified individually in the 200 freestyle.
Amber Winter, sr., Merrill
She has the second-fastest qualifying time in the 100 breaststroke and the seventh-fastest time in the 200 individual medley.
