Boys basketball

Boswell Area Jaycees Holiday Tournament

Championship - United 60, North Star 57: In Boswell, tournament MVP Brad Felix netted 21 points to send the Lions past the Cougars.

Ethan Smith dropped a team-high 17 points along with seven rebounds, six steals and four assists for North Star. Brady Weimer contributed 16 points and CJ Biery added 12 points for the Cougars.

Consolation - Somerset 60, Tussey Mountain 58: In Boswell, Aiden VanLenten poured in a game-high 29 points as the Golden Eagles edged the Titans.

Caleb Platt recorded 20 points for Somerset.

Girls basketball

Boswell Area Jaycees Holiday Tournament

Consolation - Somerset 54, North Star 29: In Boswell, Eve Housley delivered a game-high 26 points as the Golden Eagles soared past the Cougars.

Emily Rush added nine points for Somerset.

Chloe Miller paced North Star with eight points.

Richland Holiday Classic

Richland 63, Shade 36: In Richland Township, four Rams scored in double figures, led by Lanie Marshall's team-high 17 points to propel Richland past Shade.

Shade's Jenna Muha led all scorers with 26 points along with 14 rebounds.

Boys basketball

Berlin Veteran's Home Association Christmas Tournament

Championship - Berlin Brothersvalley 86, Conemaugh Township 42: In Berlin, tournament MVP Pace Prosser scored a game-high 34 points, surpassing 1,000 for his career as the Mountaineers rolled to a title.

Ryan Blubaugh racked up 25 points while Craig Jarvis added 15 for Berlin.

Jon Updyke netted 15 points for Conemaugh Township.

Boswell Area Jaycees Holiday Tournament

United 70, Somerset 56: In Boswell, four United players scored in double figures, including a team-high 20 points from Brad Felix as the Lions bested the Golden Eagles.

Aiden VanLenten scored a game-high 22 points to go along with six rebounds for Somerset. Caleb Platt scored 12 points while Luke Housley and Lane Lambert each had nine points.

North Star 71, Tussey Mountain 34: In Boswell, Brady Weimer poured in a game-high 32 points, including six 3-pointers as the Cougars clobbered the Titans.

Andy Retassie and CJ Biery each had 10 points and six assists for North Star. Ethan Smith recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds to go along with six assists and four steals.

Hancock Tournament

Championship - Salisbury-Elk Lick 62, Turkeyfoot 56: In Hancock, Maryland, Daulton Sellers dropped a game-high 24 points to propel the Elks past the Rams.

Drake Sellers added 17 points for Salisbury.

Bryce Nicholson led Turkeyfoot with 20 points, and Chris Kozlowski chipped in 10 points and 15 rebounds.

Rotary Tournament

Championship - Windber 45, Chestnut Ridge 43: In Windber, tournament MVP Grady Klosky netted the go-ahead bucket to send the Ramblers past the Lions in the title game.

Klosky finished with 10 points. Blake Klosky scored 13 points while John Shuster and Evan Brady each finished with 10 points.

Girls basketball

Berlin Veteran's Home Association Christmas Tournament

Championship - Berlin Brothersvalley 58, Westmont Hilltop 49: In Berlin, tournament MVP Gracie Sechler dropped a game-high 25 points to propel the Mountaineers over the Hilltoppers.

Jenny Countryman tallied 11 points for Berlin.

Consolation - Conemaugh Township 46, Southern Fulton 26: Mya Poznanski poured in a game-high 20 points and grabbed five rebounds to power Conemaugh Township to a 46-26 win over Southern Fulton.

Ava Byer collected nine points, six boards and five steals for Conemaugh Township.

United 56, Somerset 37: In Boswell, the Golden Eagles were grounded by the Lions.

Eve Housley paced Somerset with 20 points while Mia Rosman added 13 points.

Tussey Mountain 41, North Star 33: In Boswell, the Cougars suffered a setback to the Titans.

Grace Metz scored a game-high 18 points while Abby Barnick chipped in 11 points for North Star.

Boys basketball

Berlin Veterans’ Home Association Holiday Tournament

Berlin Brothersvalley 74, Ligonier Valley 40: In Berlin, Ryan Blubaugh dropped a game-high 30 points to guide the Mountaineers past the Rams into the title game.

Craig Jarvis netted 25 points, including five 3-pointers, while Pace Prosser chipped in 16 points for Berlin.

Conemaugh Township 68, Geibel Catholic 57: In Berlin, Alex Gregory dropped 18 points to send Conemaugh Township to the championship game.

Jon Updyke netted 15 points for Conemaugh Township. Tanner Shirley contributed 14 points and Colin Dinyar added 13 points.

Rotary Tournament

Windber 54, Everett 23: In Windber, Grady Klosky recorded a game-high 15 points to send the Ramblers to the title tilt.

Tanner Barkley contributed nine points for Windber. Blake Klosky provided eight points, six rebounds and four assists while Evan Brady added eight points.

Hancock Tournament

Salisbury-Elk Lick 71, Hancock 41: In Hancock, Maryland, Daulton Sellers netted 25 points, surpassing 1,000 career points as the Elks bested the Panthers.

Drake Sellers provided 10 points for Salisbury.

Turkeyfoot 54, Paw Paw 38: In Hancock, Maryland, Bryce Nicholson netted 17 points to lead the Rams past the Pirates.

Chris Kozlowski produced 11 points, 12 rebounds, five steals and four blocks while Bryce Schmidt added 10 points and seven steals.
