Here are the top South Mississippi high school football performers in week one of games

The first week of high school football on the Coast is in the books and athletes across the region turned in big outings.

These were the top performers from the opening week games.

  • Zach Marlin, Biloxi: Marlin completed 9-of-13 passes for 176 yards and four touchdowns in Biloxi’s 44-14 win over Stone.

  • Jamir Haskin, Biloxi: Haskin carried the ball 10 times for 96 yards and a touchdown.

  • Kelian Stepter, D’Iberville: Stepter had 115 all-purpose yards, including a 66-yard touchdown catch in a 40-17 loss to Columbia.

  • Brenn Moody, George County: Moody ran for over 140 yards and three touchdowns in his first start at quarterback during a 28-7 win over East Central.

  • Jacobe Street, George County: Street rushed for 124 yards and a 52-yard scoring run.

  • Niko Williams, Gulfport: Williams completed 11 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 95 yards and three scores in a 42-0 win over Gautier.

  • Bishop McGruder, Gulfport: McGruder caught five passes for 102 yards and a touchdown.

  • Zach Gullung, Hancock: Gullung rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns and scored on a 16-yard catch in the Hawks’ 42-20 win over Natchez.

  • Dylan Moran, Hancock: Moran completed 10 passes for 212 yards and four touchdowns for the Hawks.

  • Tri Gaughf, Harrison Central: Gaughf completed 10 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for another in the Red Rebels’ 21-12 win over Ridgeland.

  • Tyree Barnett, Harrison Central: Barnett caught three passes for 115 yards and a touchdown.

  • Marlos Walkers, Harrison Central: Walkers had 11 total tackles, a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery.

  • Boone Wilson, Harrison Central: Wilson picked up 17 total stops, a sack and a forced fumble.

  • Will Smith, Ocean Springs: Smith scored on a 36-yard touchdown run before catching a touchdown pass in the Greyhound’s loss to Madison Central.

  • Trace Carter, Ocean Springs: Carter had an interception and a fumble recovery for the Greyhounds.

  • Silas Corder, Pascagoula: The quarterback threw a 76-yard touchdown pass and ran for another in the 31-0 win over rival Moss Point.

  • Chris Davis, Picayune: Davis ran for 244 yards and scored three rushing touchdowns in Picayune’s 28-21 win over Brandon.

  • Daniel Pickens, Resurrection: Pickens had 205 rushing yards and 281 all-purpose yards, with two rushing and a receiving touchdown in a 29-26 win over Bay High.

  • Luke Schnoor, Resurrection: Schnoor completed 10 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns.

  • Ian Gonzalez Rios, St. Stanislaus: Gonzalez Rios ran for 193 yards and four touchdowns in his first American football game during the Rock-a-Chaws’ 31-6 win over Forrest County AHS.

  • Jacob Bradford, St. Stanislaus: The Louisiana Tech commit had 11 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

  • Jaylen Johnson, Vancleave: Johnson rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on nine carries in Vancleave’s 42-7 win over St. Martin.

  • Kyle Capers, Vancleave: Capers picked up 88 rushing yards and scored three times for the Bulldogs.

  • Vancleave defense: The Bulldog defense held the Yellow Jackets to just 26 yards of offense.

  • Jordan Stapleton, West Harrison: Stapleton ran for 308 yards and three touchdowns in the Hurricanes’ 41-40 win over Greene County.

  • Trey Harris, West Harrison: Harris rushed for 102 yards and one score.
