Despite being open only four hours out of the day, McKinely’s co-owners Brandon Allen and Danny Andrews have their hands full with their two-person run sandwich shop that has captured Milton’s lunch crowd.

This January, they will be taking their business to the next level with the addition of a new wine bar and dinner service.

Starting in January, the restaurant will be open for lunch only on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with dinner service on Friday and Saturday, starting at 4 p.m. Wine and beer will be available every day.

With the addition of the wine bar, customers will be able to enjoy a variety of different wines, along with the possibility for wine tastings and wine flights down the road.

A new 32-unit townhome development is being planned for the Tanyard neighborhood in downtown Pensacola.

Pensacola-based aDoor Properties submitted to the Pensacola Planning Board a proposal for a 32-lot development called Main Street Crossing.

The project is located at 555 S. G St and is a little more than 1.5 acres. The southern edge of the property fronts Main Street just across the road from the Builders First Source lumber yard.

The proposal asks the city to approve the new lot lines for the planned development.

Roadway concurrency was a term oft used by Santa Rosa County Commission candidate Kerry Smith during his successful campaign for office, and in his first public meeting since being sworn in, he made sure the topic was front and center.

He has learned since his election, however, that it will take more than a simple commission majority to make sure that any new developments take infrastructure into account. Doing so will require an amendment to the county's state-approved comprehensive plan, and that will mean going to the Florida Legislature for permission.
