Topeka man charged with murder after shooting at Reser’s

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Shawnee County District Attorney’s Office has charged a man in relation to a shooting at Reser’s Fine Foods.

On Wednesday, April 17, Shawnee County District Attorney Mike Kagay charged Eddie Holmes, 65, of Topeka regarding a shooting at Reser’s Fine Foods last week. Holmes is being charged with the following:

  • One count of murder in the second degree, intentional

  • One count of criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Police identify victim, man arrested after Topeka stabbing

Police were called just after 4:30 p.m. on April 11 to 3167 SE 10th St. on a report of a shooting. Once they arrived, officers found one person suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound who was later pronounced dead.

The victim was later identified as Reginal D. Previtte, 39, of Topeka. Investigators with Topeka Police said they believe the shooting was an isolated incident that occurred in the parking lot with no other injuries reported.
