Topeka store ready to sell Kansas City Chiefs gear after AFC Champions match

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Local fans of Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for the team’s expected showdown with the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday.

For the sixth consecutive year, Academy Sports & Outdoors in Topeka is preparing to welcome in Chiefs fans all night long. They are stocked with various AFC Champions merchandise ready to go. The one thing they’re lacking right now is a Chiefs victory.

Academy Manager Jalen Lynk said planning for the boom in sales is no small feat.

“Planning for the AFC championship started immediately after the Buffalo Bills game,” Lynk said. “We started setting up a hot market team that will be the team opening up the doors for us after a Chiefs win.”

If the Chiefs defeat the Ravens, championship merchandise will hit the shelves immediately after the game. Academy will keep its doors open all through the night and into the morning for fans to snag any championship gear.

You can find Academy Sports & Outdoors in west Topeka at 1133 SW Wanamaker Road. To browse what the store has to offer ahead of time, check out its website.
