Tornado Causes 'Extensive Damage' After Touching Down in Northwest Wisconsin

A tornado touched down in northwest Wisconsin, causing “extensive damage” to homes and buildings on Tuesday, September 24, local media reported.

The National Weather Service (NWS) on Tuesday issued a tornado warning for several Wisconsin cities, including Elk Mound, Wilson, and Chippewa Falls. The NWS later said the tornado touched down just east of Elk Mound on Tuesday night.

These videos, taken near Elk Mound, show flashes of lightning illuminating a dark funnel cloud in the distance. Another clip also shows several overturned semi-trailers.

Local media reported at least three tipped-over semi-trailers were seen along a highway near Elk Mound.
