Tornado confirmed by trained spotter northwest of Prinsburg Sunday night

— At least one brief tornado was spawned by a thunderstorm rolling across southwestern Kandiyohi County Sunday evening.

A tornado was reported on the ground by a trained spotter at 8:03 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, about one mile northwest of Prinsburg, according to an @iembot_mpx bot report from the National Weather Service in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

A tornado warning was issued at 8:03 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, by the National Weather Service. The warning ran until 8:45 p.m, and included Prinsburg, Blomkest and Svea as the storm system moved eastward.

A tornado was captured on video above farm fields near 260th Street Southwest between Prinsburg and Clara City after 8 p.m. Sunday, The location was about 16 miles southwest of Willmar.

Multiple video and images of the Prinsburg tornado were captured by various storm chasers.
