Tornado warning and watch issued for parts of Monmouth, Ocean County

Tornado warnings has been issued for parts of Monmouth and Ocean County on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service of Mount Holly.

A tornado warning, which advises residents to take cover, is separate from a tornado watch. Large swaths of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland are currently under a tornado watch, which is predicted to last until 10 p.m. Saturday.

The tornado watch area includes most of New Jersey.

In addition to tornados, hail up to the size of two inches and wind with gusts up to 70 miles per hour are possible, according to the National Weather Service.

Later in the week, sunshine and higher temperatures are predicted in the Shore area. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday could see mostly sunny days with temperatures in the 50s and 60s while Wednesday could see a cloudy day with temperatures staying in the 60s.
