Torrential Rain Lashes Paris Following Heat Wave

Torrential rain lashed Paris on Tuesday, August 16, leading to flooding at several metro stations in the city, France 24 reported.

Footage posted to Twitter shows driving rain and strong wind.

According to La Parisien, wind gusts of 104 km/h (about 65 mph) were recorded during the deluge.

Meteo France said more than a month’s worth of rain fell on the city in just one day.

On Wednesday, five departments in the south of the country were under weather warnings due to severe storms.
