Tortorella smiles through beer shower after Blue Jackets sweep Lightning
The brooms were out last night in Columbus, but did anyone bring a mop?
Coach John Tortorella was on the receiving end of an accidental beer shower during Columbus’ series clinching 7-3 win over Tampa Bay on Tuesday night. The rowdy fans at Nationwide Arena were euphoric after sweeping the Lightning, and it’s hard to fault them for beer-infused celebration.

The old Torts would’ve probably snapped at the fan for raining $15 dollars worth of beer down upon him, but the new Torts just laughed it off. Everyone seems to be loving the new Torts!
There’s a lot to be cheerful about in Columbus right now — last night the Blue Jackets made history as the first team to sweep a President’s Trophy winning club in the first round.

Tortorella and the Blue Jackets are thriving off the electric atmosphere at home, and the coach is encouraging his players to enjoy the moment and the positive energy heading into the second round.
