Tory leadership contest live: Britain gears up to usher in new Prime Minister

Next week the country will see a new Prime Minister replace Theresa May with Boris Johnson widely expected to be her successor.

Britain will know who will be the new PM by Tuesday after votes are counted.

The party’s 160,000 members have until Monday to cast their votes between frontrunner Boris Johnson and Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt.

Following a month-long contest, the votes will be counted on Tuesday, with Theresa May to take part in her final Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday before meeting the Queen where she will formally stand down.
