Tory leadership contest: Boris Johnson goes head-to-head with rivals in heated TV debate - as it happened

Boris Johnson went head-to-head with his Tory leadership rivals after topping the second round of votes in the contest.

Mr Johnson finished first with 126 votes, followed by Jeremy Hunt with 46 and Michael Gove with 41.

Rory Stewart received 37 votes, with Sajid Javid scraping through on 33.

Dominic Raab was knocked out of the race as he received 30 votes - three too few to proceed.

The remaining candidates engaged in a televised debate on the BBC this evening.
